MakingHistories is a European HORIZON-MSCA-2021 project, led by Mario Carretero (UAM), whose central aim is to build an international, interdisciplinary, intersectoral and gender-balanced network of organisations to produce new theoretical and applied knowledge in the field of historical-culture and education studies, in order to enhance the role of historical representations in today’s democratic and reflective societies. The field, which spans both formal and informal contexts where views of the past are circulated, calls for closer collaboration between scholars and professionals working in history museums, heritage settings, historical reenactments, memorial sites and schools. MakingHistories brings together a total of 23 institutions from Europe, Africa, Australia, Canada, Israel and Latin America.
