Cajal Museum

Museological Plan for the Cajal Museum.

Developed for the Royal College of Physicians of Madrid (ICOMEM), whose headquarters are based in the Royal College of Surgery of San Carlos — the first Faculty of Medicine of Madrid. The site preserves the Cajal lecture hall, where the master taught until his death, the library and the great anatomical theatre, a key venue of Spanish medicine, with the original tiered seating and frescoes intact. The museological plan guided the refurbishment of the Cajal lecture hall and made it possible, in 2019, to launch educational programmes and a dramatised tour of the historic spaces while the rest of the rooms were being restored.

Project developed in collaboration with the company Interpretart.
