Timanfaya National Park

In 2021, Timanfaya National Park, run by the Spanish Autonomous Body of National Parks (OAPN) under the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, commissioned a Visitor Study covering the whole park, including its different service sub-areas, the visitor centres and the public programmes.

National Parks face very heavy visitor pressure, especially those located in areas of strong tourism demand (as is the case of Timanfaya), which often jeopardises both conservation and the quality of services and programmes.

The study was carried out during 2022 and 2023, with the analysis of guided tours run by private operators left for 2024.

Project developed in collaboration with the company Interpretart.
